        Service Pack Advisory
        There may be some hot fixes which are omitted from a Service Pack. The reasons for this include:

        • they were built after the Service Pack build;
        • they were superseded with a latter fix, or
        • they were considered inappropriate to include perhaps because of the scope.

        If you already have any hot fixes installed, then please check the Service Pack release document and compare the fixes with the hotfix.txt files supplied with your hot fixes.  If there is any discrepancy that concerns you, please contact your regional support office for assistance.

        CitectSCADA Reports 4.0 Service Pack A

        The main feature of this service pack is to provide compatibility with CitectSCADA V7 systems that are running as a single cluster configuration. It was designed for customers who are planning to upgrade their SCADA systems to V7, without using the new clustering feature. There are no user interface changes; the changes were made at low level to address the differences in the implementation of CTAPI caused by the introduction  of clustering support. Also, there are changes to the Citect OLEDB Provider to make it compatible with the new CTAPI.

        This service pack also installs a new version of CTAPI library v7.0.383 and the required Microsoft VC++ libraries v8.0.50727.762.

        Please Note: Only users who intend to upgrade to CitectSCADA V7 should apply this Service Pack.
        Customers who have received a hot fix or special build of CitectSCADA Reports v 4.0 should contact support before they install this service pack, as the hot fix / special build will need to be rebuilt to enable support for CitectSCADA v7.0.
         

         
         
         
         

        Citect Plant2Business v3.02 Service Pack A

        As part of the CitectSCADA Reports V3.02 release, Citect has focused strongly on the robustness of the CtAPI connectivity that allows CitectSCADA Reports to connect to CitectSCADA. This has resulted in a number of changes to the CitectSCADA CtAPI code which are delivered in this service pack, CitectSCADA V5.42 service pack A (not yet released), and CitectSCADA V5.5 R0.

        To apply this service pack, please ensure you read the instructions below. This service pack is only applicable to CitectSCADA V5.42 R0 systems and Plant2Business V3.02 systems. When connecting Plant2Business V3.02 to other versions of CitectSCADA (V5.42 service pack A or V5.5 as described above), this service pack should still be applied to the Plant2Business system as the CtAPI corrections are required on both the Server and Client systems. This service pack cannot be applied to CitectSCADA systems older than V5.42 R0.

        This service pack includes corrections previously provided in hot fix numbers:

        • HF542R019341
        • HF542R019758
        • HF542R020681
        • HF542R020019 for Citect for Windows Version 5.42 R0

        These corrections address issues documented in NCR numbers 19341 & 19758 & 20681 & 20019.

        Important Information

        • This service pack must be applied to both Plant2Business Server AND the CitectSCADA Server (v5.42 r0).
        • If connecting to CitectSCADA versions prior to V5.42, this service pack cannot be used.
        • If connecting to CitectSCADA systems after V5.42 R0 (including V5.42 service pack A), this service pack ONLY needs to be applied to the Plant2Business Server.

        Make sure you have the required versions of both Plant2Business AND CitectSCADA before installing this hot fix.

        Problems Addressed

        • CtApi will not read tags properly if multiple connections are made to different Citect projects.
        • CTAPI has trouble handling CtCancelIO function, the CTAPI query device could be dead locked by the server when client using this function.
        • CTAPI client may get deadlock when calling CtClose function.
        • CTAPI may fail to reconnect

        This service pack has not been regression tested. Application of this service pack is done at your own risk.

        MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP EXISTING FILES BEFORE COPYING FILES IN THIS SERVICE PACK.

         
         

        To apply to CitectSCADA
        You will need to shutdown your CitectSCADA system to perform the following:

        • Citect32.exe Copy to BIN folder (nominally C:\Citect\bin)
        • Ctapi.dll  Copy to BIN folder (nominally C:\Citect\bin)
        • Ctutil32.dll Copy to BIN folder (nominally C:\Citect\bin)
        • ct_ipc.dll Copy to BIN folder (nominally C:\Citect\bin)

        To apply to Citect Plant2Business Server

        • Ctapi.dll  Copy to OLEDB folder (nominally c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ci Technologies\OLEDB)
        • Ctutil32.dll Copy to OLEDB folder (nominally c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ci Technologies\OLEDB)
