Ask a Question

In regards to the METSEPM8000DEMOT , METSEPM8000DEMOK , METSEPM8240DEMO , METSEPM8244DEMO Why do the Ethernet cables need to be ‘unshielded’?

The PM8000 Ethernet ports are ungrounded and as a result there is a potential risk for the Ethernet port to act as a surge/fault path if an Ethernet cable with a metal jack is used. To address this potential risk it’s recommended that Cat 5e UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) is used.
