The PACiS system is based on Ethernet networks (IEC61850) linking all protections, control, measurement units, PLCs, local HMIs and gateways to the energy management system level.

The latest version of PACiS features improved availability of Bay Computers and RTUs with dual power supply board, and more open and extended communication with multi-function gateways, data concentrators and intelligent electronic devices on a range of different protocols.

The PACiS intelligent Fast Load Shedding (IFLS) module controls the plant stability, so that during any power source loss, PACiS will, in less than 80ms, shed the necessary loads to maintain the whole network stability in line with process priorities.

Well suited for application in the oil and gas industry, in electro-intensive industries and utilities, PACiS solutions combined with Schneider Electric’s Electrical Network Management, helps our customers create cost-effective and reliable infrastructures.

Key characteristics include:

• IEC61850 designed substation automation system providing standardisation, fast automation messages (GOOSE)
• All information to monitor, analyse and manage the whole electrical system available to the operator, with real-time accuracy of one millisecond.
• Fully open to the integration of third party devices and systems such as PCS, ICSS, DCS, etc.
• Cyber-security protection using Secured Computer Administration Tool (CAT), different levels of passwords, security logs, operator access and antivirus on gateways and data concentrators.
