Trader's 500 - Bringing the industry together

Australia’s biggest trade show for the electrical industry, Trader's 500 is currently on the road again in 2012.

Designed and managed by Lawrence & Hanson, one of Australia’s leading names in the electrical wholesale industry, the event brings together more than 50 suppliers with their latest and greatest product innovations, solutions as well as great prizes for electrical contractors.

This year’s travelling show commenced in May and is set to conclude in August. The show has already appeared in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, with Perth and Melbourne still to come. More than 400 electrical contractors attended the Adelaide leg.

Andrew Crawford, General Manager Lawrence & Hanson, said that the event gives great support to the electrical industry.

“No one is doing a show like this on the scale and at a national level.

“There has been an excellent turn out from suppliers including Schneider Electric and Clipsal. There are lots of new products and technology here on display such as the electric car which has been very impressive. I would urge all suppliers to invite more of their customers to attend the event.”

Schneider Electric’s electric vehicle display, complete with IMiev vehicle, and recharging solutions was a hit with customers, along with the putting green competition to win an iPad.

Electrical contractor, Paul Harrison, from Occupational Safety Service regularly purchases through L&H and comes to the show to see what is new.

“I’m mainly interested in circuit breakers as we do a lot of work in the commercial maintenance area. Quality is important to us and we’ve never had any issues with Schneider.”

Positioned directly alongside the Schneider Electric display was Clipsal’s solutions offering. Customers showed a lot of interest in the LED lighting, Saturn, Modena and Strato product ranges.

Among them was Chris Doe, from RF Works.

“I’m a contractor working mainly in the commercial radio market. I’m interested in Clipsal’s C-Bus technology. It’s an area that our business needs to grow into to offer clients lighting control and multi room audio solutions.”

Traders 500 is now headed to Perth on July 26 and then Melbourne on August 13. To register your attendance, visit: http://www.traders500.com.au/

They said it:
